#2 Anthony “Rumble” Johnson and #4 Ryan “Darth” Bader made perfect weight Friday night ahead of their anticipated match Saturday night in New Jersey.
This fight can boost either man’s road to Daniel Cormier and the light heavyweight championship. Bader is currently on a 5-fight win streak while Johnson is only on a one fight win streak. After running over Jimi Manuwa back in September, “Rumble” is searching for a win to bolster an already scary list of victims.
Johnson has already fought the current champ. In May of 2015, Cormier took out Anthony in the third round with a submission. You could say that nerves took over Johnson. The way Johnson cruised passed Manuwa, showed that he was still at top form. A former welterweight, now light heavyweight, looks to take out Bader, and get another chance at the belt.
It won’t be as easy as you may think. Ryan Bader has really amped up his fight style, even though all of his last 5 victories have come by decision. Wins over Rashad Evans, Phil Davis, and Ovince Saint Preux. With every win, Ryan gained confidence and momentum and he climbed up the UFC rankings.
If I were to make an official prediction on this fight, I would have to say Anthony Johnson wins by second round TKO.
