The former UFC welterweight champion and future hall-of-famer Georges St. Pierre will take part in a six-week training camp to see if he is wanting to return according to St. Pierre’s boxing coach Freddie Roach.
“We came up with a process. He’s going to train for a fight,” Roach told Fight Hub TV. “He’s going to have a six-week training camp. At the end of the six weeks, if he feels like he’s ready to fight, and he’s hungry for it like he always has been, he’s going to do it. He’s gonna fight one more time.”
Roach says that if GSP can withstand the vicious blood, sweat, and tears of training camp then we could see him back in action in 2016.
We last saw the 34 year-old in 2013 after a controversial win over Johny Hendricks. Ever since then, St. Pierre has stared in two films, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and the upcoming “Kickboxer” movie.
