After a report released that the current Welterweight champion Robbie Lawler (26-10-0 1NC) was forced to pull out of the UFC Welterweight title fight against #4 Carlos Condit due to a thumb injury. That injury now has a timetable. One month is the scheduled time to heal. Lawler is hoping to still fight Condit on January 2nd, 2016 at UFC 195.
UFC Tonight’s Ariel Helwani talked to Robbie’s manager and went on to tell Helwani that his injury wasn’t anything that required surgery which is promising news.
Robbie Lawler won the championship back in December of 2014 after winning a split decision over former champion, Johny Hendricks. Lawler has only since defended the championship belt once in a war versus Rory MacDonald.
