The official drug tests for the UFC 190 fight between women’s bantamweight champion Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey and Bethe Correia have come back clean as per MMAJunkie.com
All of the fighters on the card tested clean for PED’s. The drug tests included blood and urine tests. The main event of the August 1st card was quickly ended in :34 seconds by the champ via TKO. Comissao Atletica Brasileira de MMA (CABMMA) didn’t state how many fighters were tested but the ones they did mention were clean. Here is the official statement courtesy of MMAJunkie.com.
“The athletes were subject to a comprehensive testing program that consisted of both blood and urine collections. All results came back negative.
The urine and blood samples were collected by a team of Doping Control Officers (DCO), all of whom are certified in accordance with the WADA International Standards, and sent to WADA-accredited laboratories for analysis.
All sample collections were conducted by personnel from CABMMA or the Brazilian Authority for Doping Control (ABCD), with representatives from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) present during the sample collection process as well.
CABMMA has adopted the UFC Anti-Doping Policy which will guide all CABMMA testing at sanctioned bouts.”
Rousey is scheduled to fight Holly Holm at UFC 195 on January 2nd, 2016. While Correia is trying to land a fight with Miesha Tate.
