According to theScore, #3 featherweight Chad “Money” Mendes and #2 featherweight and former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar will go toe-to-toe at The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale on Dec.11th.
Frankie Edgar, (18-4-1), is 4-1-0 since moving down to featherweight defeating Charles Oliveria, Cub Swanson, Urijah Faber, and BJ Penn. Edgar lost to Jose Aldo for the featherweight title in his first featherweight contest. A win for him will rocket him toward a title shot.
Chad Mendes on the other side, is coming off a loss to Interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor back in July. Prior to that defeat, “Money” went 8-2-0 in his last 10 fights. Mendes has only lost to McGregor and to Jose Aldo, on two occasions. A win for him, could automatically book him a fight against the winner of Aldo vs McGregor.
Fans can expect a fiery and explosive battle from both fighters.
